About The Event

On FRIDAY MARCH 10 at 7pm, join us at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for an evening of exciting organ music by BIPOC and women composers performed by Katie Webb, Trinity’s Canon for Music. The program will include works by composers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, spanning a period of nearly 200 years. In addition to larger stand-alone works by Cecilia McDowall, Mark Miller, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Thomas H. Kerr, Dr. Webb will play a series of pieces for the church year by Jeanne Demessieux, Adolphus Hailstork, Ethel Smyth, Evelyn Simpson-Curenton, and more! The many and varied colors of Trinity’s magnificent Rosales pipe organ will be on full display during this hour-long recital.

Dr. Webb began her tenure as Canon for Music at Trinity last September. A graduate of Indiana University’s Jacob School of Music and St. Olaf College, she is active nationwide as a choral conductor, organist, and composer. As one of only three female directors of music at American Episcopal cathedrals and an advocate for radical welcome for all at Trinity, she has a deep commitment to offering music from a variety of traditions with both integrity and passion.
